Design a modern headquarters with improved operational efficiencies and a well-organized space plan that conveys the image of a professional non-profit charity.
SHCA was commissioned by one of the largest non-profit organizations in the world to develop a facilities plan to either upgrade its existing premises or relocate. After a two year study, the client opted to remain in its 270,000 sq ft (25,080 sq m) mid-town location and begin a phased renovation while continuing occupancy.

SHCA designed the complex project in three phases. Base building renovations included: consolidating the building core, new elevator, redesigned MEP infrastructure, new voice, data and cabling infrastructure, new ADA compliant toilets, client and office tenant lobbies, replacing the existing roof and an over-cladding curtain wall with new windows. New retail storefronts were coordinated with the retail architect.

The client's staff moved into swing space created by vacating sub-tenants while the new interior fit-out was prepared. The interior renovation incorporated nine floors, seven of which house staff in open plan workstations with interior/perimeter private offices. Support spaces include: pantry, copy, conference rooms, and mailroom. A full service kitchen supports the conference/ballroom and a "Town Square" encourages employees' face-to-face interaction.
