This dynamic new office fit-out in the Krylatsky Hills Business Park is the new Moscow Headquarters for BAT Russia. This brand-focused and marketing led company used their relocation project to explore how interior design would contribute to the expression of their brand values to their customers and staff.
British American Tobacco (BAT) appointed SHCA to design the interior fit-out of its new 6,503 sq m (70,000 sq ft) Moscow office. Our charge was to design an environment that raised BAT's profile in the local market and demonstrated to staff and customers that it is a global organisation with a strong commitment to the Russian market.

SHCA achieved these goals by crafting a workplace that improves communication between individuals and departments; increasing transparency to reduce physical hierarchies; and providing a 'branded' and contemporary interior that supports staff retention. Designers translated the 'personalities' of BAT's various brands into the physical workplace, especially in areas dedicated to customer interaction. Each floor is distinctive yet works to achieve a comprehensive design language. A circular motif, evocative of a cigarette viewed on end, provided the visual anchor for the design. 'Touch down' areas on each floor are styled after Internet cafes to promote informal meetings and improved communication between staff.
