EC Harris appointed SHCA to develop a strategic program in order to define their space needs and develop a flexible workplace strategy to assist in their selection of a new HQ building.
SHCA developed a strategic program to define the space needs and develop a flexible workplace strategy to assist in the selection of a new HQ building. Subsequently, Jahn Court in the Regent Quarter development in King's Cross was selected and SHCA was further appointed for the interior design fit-out.

The business drivers behind SHCA's design solution were to create a fresh, stimulating environment that would foster cross-discipline interaction and team spirit. A strong, simple identity was developed to link the various areas and contrast with the existing Victorian-era industrial architecture of the front portion of the site.

The open-plan office space accommodates a mixed population of 600 static and mobile staff. It is configured to support team-working and desk-sharing. Open-plan meeting and breakout spaces, enclosed small quiet rooms and team meeting rooms facilitate informal meetings and quiet thinking space.

Since taking occupation in December 2006 the Chairman has commented upon the improvement in staff morale, tangible improvements in staff communications and is confident that this workplace is contributing to the competitive advantage of his business.
