Based on a long relationship incorporating several successful projects, Fidelity Investments retained SHCA to design the company's headquarters at 640 Fifth Avenue.
Careful site analysis was an early contributor to project success. 640 Fifth Avenue combined the right location and physical space appropriate for the user group. The strong Fidelity brand was reinforced through thoughtful space planning and imaginative design. The goal was to create a welcoming environment for high-net-worth individuals through the use of rich materials and clean lines.
An irregular floor plate with many columns posed a challenge for the design team, striving to work within Fidelity's established office standards. Ultimately, the team designed the layout in a flexible and modular way that was able to satisfy existing client standards and incorporate last-minute program changes.
