Create a new Ambulatory Surgery Center for a busy suburban medical center that responds to advances in technology and the increasing demand for outpatient surgeries.
SHCA designed Long Island Jewish Medical Center's new Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), located on the ground floor of an existing building. This new 25,000 sq ft (2,323 sq m) facility offers visitors a dedicated exterior entrance at grade, as well as a separate protected direct patient pick-up entrance. Ample parking is provided on site.

The ASC contains six state-of-the-art operating rooms with ceiling-mounted equipment booms. All required support spaces are provided, including Pre-Op space with six cubicles and an 18-cubicle Recovery Room, incorporating five designated pediatric cubicles and abundant natural light. A Pre-Surgical Testing suite was designed adjacent to the ASC and contains five exam rooms, one Chest X-Ray room and all required support spaces.
