A high-quality design for a leading investment manager, providing effective workspace, extensive staff amenities and personalised client meeting and dining space.
Man Group appointed our workplace consulting team to write a base build architectural design brief and workspace strategy to inform the search for a developers new pre-let building. We undertook development appraisals and collaborated with the selected developer's Architect to tailor the building to suite Man Group's requirements. This included adding soft spots, strengthening a floorplate to house UPS, redesigning toilet cores, improving the loading bay and security design, and improving the sublet strategy.

The ground floor contains a large riverfront-facing staff restaurant and bar, and a 200-person auditorium. The 9th floor is a purpose-designed client-facing floor, with a large terrace overlooking the Thames and a suite of individually-designed fine dining rooms. It also contains a client meeting suite, a business lounge and the Boardroom housing the Man Booker prize collection. The general office floors are designed to be largely open-plan with a central zone around the core designed to accommodate various enclosed work-settings and meeting spaces with vending and breakout areas which take advantage of the river view.

The design integrates the clean lines of the base-building by integrating dramatic angular forms and the use of bold colour and graphics. The 9th floor has a boutique hotel aesthetic with Michelin-star level fine dining and a very high level of client hospitality and service.
