The New Learning and Development Centre was commissioned to provide on-site training and National Standard event & conference facilities. It was constructed by Laing O'Rourke, delivered under the NHS Procure 21 scheme.
Rampton Hospital provides High Security facilities for patients suffering from a number of mental health disorders and provides a national centre of excellence in the development and treatment of mental illness, hosting conferences and delegations for both clinical and support organisations.

The new building provides modern educational facilities for staff training and development; including a dedicated IT suite, Library and facilities for the latest face to face teaching methods.

The training facility of the building is complimented by a large, flexible conference space, featuring state-of-the-art presentation equipment, acoustically rated demountable partition walls and a multiple configuration layout.

The Building has received a BREEAM assessment of 'Very Good' and features a timber frame design, under floor heating and roof mounted photovoltaic panels. The building also features an innovative energy monitoring and performance system which assists in meeting the Hospitals strategic sustainability agenda.
