Team with our client to design a US headquarters that improves its brand awareness while simultaneously developing space plans that address real and desired growth throughout New York City for the near future.
Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), the largest bank in Canada, retained SHCA to provide interior design and fit-out services for its facilities throughout New York City. This space program allows the bank to assess real and desired growth requirements and execute a space plan to satisfy its specific needs. The program provides RBC an opportunity to evaluate its corporate culture, personnel and recent acquisitions.

SHCA is designing the bank's US headquarters at 3 World Financial Center. The scope encompasses 250,000 sq ft (2,323 sq m) with private offices, open area workstations, trading floor, centralized reception and conference center, data center, and support areas.

RBC aspires to become a global brand and plans to utilize its US headquarters to improve brand awareness and as a staff recruitment tool. SHCA developed design standards that enhance and incorporate branding in areas such as elevator lobbies, reception areas and conference centers. The trading floor is a dynamic environment, serving both the bank's central business function as well as an extension of the brand.
