Create a high end space which confirmed the company's presence as a sophisticated New York financial firm but also acknowledged their Texas roots and was functional and cost effective.
Amherst Holdings is a boutique financial institution with multiple locations throughout the United States. The New York project was the third project completed by SHCA for Amherst.

The project included reception and conferencing, trading floor, private offices and open café style pantry. There was tremendous attention given to the details and finish quality. Special focus was paid to incorporate unexpected materials. Originally based out of Texas, Amherst was interested in acknowledging their roots but remaining a sophisticated New York financial firm. SHCA achieved a balance by using materials such as reclaimed wood flooring that was re-envisioned as millwork and used as an accent material on several feature walls which served to organize the space and highlight important features such as the conference area and open café space. This beautiful but rustic finish was juxtaposed by a clean white marble floor and a leather reception desk. The café style pantry is an open cross-through space that functions as an alternate meeting and collaboration area. There was also an existing collection of Artwork which was to be relocated as well as the purchase of new pieces for the space.

Glass fronted offices with wood furnishings further created a rich and sophisticated environment that was accomplished well within the client's budget while achieving their functional and aesthetic requirements.
