Extension, conservation and refurbishment of a Harley Street town house to create a combined ophthalmology consulting house and Eye Centre. Providing an environment for inspired care.
Research into common eyesight conditions suffered by a range of patients and a detailed understanding of how to ease the experience from arriving for assessment, to leaving after treatment is at the forefront of the thinking for the environment.

With an awkward Edwardian layout and conservation area sensitivity, the historic town house location was not originally conceived for the healthcare setting. A key principle in the new design is consistency of public realm spaces, clear visual definition and a consistent layout of the building to silently assist the user.

With laser technologies, vision lanes and optometry facilities in the lower levels of the building, the world class consultants enjoy upper floor rooms with town views and balconies, to create their own individual touches. The design uses waiting areas to carefully keep patients in close proximity of clinical staff. Various lightwell infills and extensions to the building allow a central waiting hub at each floor level, connected by a new revised lift core. All created with the vision of inspired care.

Our work here culminates in a crisp healthcare environment that works with the features of the location and complements the visitor and patient experience.
