Design a Catheterization Lab suite that embraces cutting-edge medical technology, supports sterile operations and staff efficiency, all while anticipating future growth.
SHCA's design for the new 13,000 sq. ft. (1,208 sq. m.) Catheterization Laboratory suite at Southside Hospital contains two Cardiac Catheterization Labs, a shelled room for a third future Catheterization Lab, recovery space and support and operational function areas.

A Clean Corridor leads to the Cath Lab. Procedure rooms, organized with a combined Equipment Room for space and MEP efficiency, also feature a central Clean Supply Core that provides convenient staff access to supplies and equipment storage.

Personnel enter staff changing areas from the outside of the suite, change their clothing, and move directly into the suite. This layout emphasizes the separation of clean and soiled material traffic flow.

The interior design of the waiting/reception area incorporates natural wood, ceramic tile, carpet, glass and indirect lighting. The latest healthcare approved materials are utilized for flooring and other surfaces in the clinical areas, with color and accents that create a clean, professional and inviting environment.
